Marie Taylor was born in 1981 in North Devon and has lived in Plymouth for 10 years.

A return to study in 2013 led to a First Class Honours Degree in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking at Plymouth College of Art (2017) and the Principal’s Award for Enterprise and Innovation.

Taylor works at the edge of contemporary drawing practice, focussing on the physicality of drawing, her work embodying a drawing ‘experience’. Drawing research is fundamental to her practice in the form of collaborations and symposia and she is currently working towards developing ‘Inside Edge’, projects with Rhizome Artists’ Collective and ‘Discovering Through Drawing’ Symposiums.
